The SweepZen app
SweepZen processes file and application information on your Mac. It does not collect or transmit your files, paths, scan results, usage activity, device identifiers, or personal information to the developer. It has no account system, ads, third-party analytics SDKs, or tracking.
The app has no network client entitlement and makes no network requests. Opening a support or privacy link uses your system browser.
Information used locally
When you request a scan, storage map, or app review, SweepZen reads file names and paths, sizes and dates, app metadata, and running-app information to explain disk use and protect data in use. Some configuration and provenance files are read locally to identify data ownership.
macOS grants folder access. Security-scoped folder bookmarks and preferences, including language, appearance, and the last completed cleanup date, are stored on your Mac. The app also remembers the identifiers and names of apps it has listed, to help recognize leftovers. Scan results and selections are kept in memory during use. A cleanup list is saved to a location you choose only when you export it.
Items removed inside SweepZen go to macOS Trash. The app does not automatically empty Trash. macOS may restrict some files even after you grant folder access.
Support messages
If you email the developer, the email service processes your address, message, and any attachments you send. This information is used to respond and troubleshoot, and is retained only as needed for support and applicable obligations. Do not send private files, passwords, or unredacted sensitive screenshots.
GitHub issues are public and are processed by GitHub under its own privacy statement. You may use email instead. Contact the developer to request deletion of a support email, subject to applicable retention obligations.
